Why use reciprocal reading?
Reciprocal reading is a proven method of teaching children meaning making or comprehension in reading. It can be used with a whole class, in guided sessions or in pupil-led reading groups.  Research shows that gains made in reciprocal reading are sustained long after the teaching has stopped.  Reciprocal reading works well both for primary and secondary age pupils. If you would like to know more contact us using one of the methods above.

How can we help you develop reciprocal reading in your school or classroom?
We regularly run out of school training sessions which any teacher or classroom assistant can attend. This looks at the ideas behind reciprocal reading, practical strategies to use in reciprocal reading, video exemplification of reciprocal reading with children and an opportunity to experience a reciprocal reading session yourself.

We can visit you in your school to run the training for your staff during the day or as two twilight sessions.

We can also demonstrate reciprocal reading with your children.  Contact us using one of the ways above and we can get started!
