For Chief Executives

National Professional Qualification for Executive Leaders

Six key attributes of an effective Executive Leader or CEO

As a current or aspiring Executive Leader or CEO you have risen to the highest level of leadership. The leadership talent you have developed over time  will now be tested by greater responsibility, as the future direction of your entire school or trust rests upon your shoulders.

Are you keen to develop the leadership qualities and competencies of a highly-effective Executive Leader?

Six key attributes of an effective Executive Leader or CEO

  1. Manage Attitude - the attitude of a team is the reflection of that of its leadership. As an Executive Leader, your influence is crucial for the mindset and positive outcomes of your team.
  2. Nurture the Identity - ensuring that the purpose, values and ‘brand’ are coherent, clear and consistent with each other and the needs of the students, community and team.
  3. Create the Future – understanding how to create a realistic and inspiring vision for the organisation that reflects the dynamic environment that it exists within. Develop a clear and achievable strategy for attaining that vision.
  4. Manage the Present - managing day-to-day challenges through 3 key strategies communication, coordination and control. Ensuring your team is effective in their roles.
  5. Change Leadership – managing the driving forces, vision and processes of the organisation as it develops and scales to accommodate growth.
  6. Effectiveness – making every minute count to maximise personal and team productivity.

The National Professional Qualification for Executive Leaders (NPQEL) aims to equip you with the skills that will enable you to lead your school or trust and create positive changes for successful growth.

However, don't just take our word for it.
